Baby, it's COLD out side! So what better time than now to doll up some stockings with lace ?
I found these plain cream colored stockings at Dollar Tree...And the lace is from my collection (which is dwindling!) of antique lace.
I love it. Totally. It's smashing!
I also threw together these wonderful peppermint-bark thingies for our new Soldiers, thanks to the ingenious idea from Saucy! Unfortunately, like most things, I was a day late and a dollar short. Not sure what to do with a ton of goodies I should have taken in to the Soldiers, but I'm thinking maybe our Gate Guards will reap the benefits!Yesterday we spent the afternoon sight-seeing on our Post...
Aren't the trees beautiful here? We accidently entered a Training area and were promptly asked to leave by a soldier toting a scary looking gun. lol. So here I am... obeying orders. We're lucky to have some lakes and even a Marina on our Post...
Where we saw a family out feeding...
I love this photo...We even found some pinecones still attached to the bare trees
And a view of the sky from under a tree
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 70 mph winds don't hit us, we won't lose power, no trees will come crashing down on top of anyone's homes or cars, and the ice gives Washington a break. This is a rain chain that has totally frozen up!
But just in case it does... I've picked up a gorgeous bottle of this to keep my spirits jolly, heh heh. I'll letcha know how delicious it is. Or is not. Either way, the bottle itself is amazing...
I am off to give the ol' sewing machine a spin. I'm attempting to wrap the kid's gifts in a very vintagey "green" way this year. Pictures to come if it all works out :)
