I've been so enamored with the vintage slip-dress remakes as seen on Etsy for a couple of years now and have always wanted one, but could never decide which one I wanted.
I sat myself down with a needle and thread, lots of lace, a vintage slip, good tunes, and some coffee early yesterday evening and went to town. Hand sewing everything is so fun. Fun fun fun fun fun.
I added lace to the sweet v-neck...and more lace under the bust and to the hem
and some bling and an antique tiny doily for more prettiness
and a huge big bow to cover my butt
fiddled with the front until I liked it
Decided I better try it on before I kept going further with it... And decided I really disliked it ON ME. Note to self: buy some spanx or get your fat arse in the gym. Preferably both.
I'm ripping parts of it off, doing some readjusting, and hopefully I'll get back to this project before Spring. In the meantime... I need to find something to wear for Xmas now.
For some sweet slip-eye-candy check out these links! And feel free to buy me one or all of these, heh heh!
Runzwithscissors makes some adorable ones!
Muirhughes makes half slips too! (dang, I have a drawer full of half slips!)
Katinkapinka does them how I love 'em... so romantical!
But the ones you MUST see are ToolGirls' hand embellished art slips! Omg... wow.... Can't imagine wearing these for anything but Halloween, or perhaps to Surgery... but man they are amazing!
Thursday
Umm, your slip is showing.
